This blog has been created to document the planning and execution as it is happening, a bike ride across the USA for charity. I will update it on a regular basis to keep people informed and a tool for myself to keep going. Namaste.

Riding for Charity

Well my first blog ever. I am inspired....a great place to be. It is interesting....you NEVER know what your day will bring. My yoga practice has certainly helped me to be open to the day, life, breath. What is presented to us at any given moment is what we need to learn. It is all about how you choose to look at it. Enough. Onto what I am doing.

I am riding cross country on my bicycle next summer for charity. I have been wanting to travel cross country for 11 years, thought about doing it on a bike about 2 years ago (i'm no cyclist, not even a little bit). I have also been feeling the need to do something on a more global scale, helping in some way to heal the world....to do my part. Inspired in part by the Yogaslackers (www.yogaslackers.com), who are an amazing group of yogi's, athletes, eco-friendly friends, travellers, lovers of life doing what they love. They just completed a 1008 mi bike tour through CO to raise money for Beads of Courage, a beautiful organization to raise money for children that suffer with serious illnesses.

So by no means am I doing something original, but it is a very personal journey I am realizing. I have been putting it out there for someone to ride with me....no takers. Offers for people to ride legs with me..I'll take it.

I hit a plateau in my life quite recently, which I learned is not a bad thing as long as you are still moving. I had desires. I was still in my own inquiry, asking questions and sometimes finding the answers. I was still doing things that I loved, living my life....but was feeling the need for change. The plateau was a good place to be....not stagnant....no big waves....just kind of paddling around with some waves here and there. Alas....my storm came and gave me just the momentum and direction that I needed. So here I am...planning and there is no turning back....not even a chance. Once you choose the path of awakening....there is no turning back. More to come.

Time to plan my Chakra Workshop.
